lyrics

Boy Scout Jamboree
(P.Simoens)

The world is filled with joyful people hanging Christmas lights upon a tree. I sit around the house pretending I'm you at the Boy Scout Jamboree. Any gift would be unequal to the happy child I used to be. Someone lie to me. Tell me everything will be just fine, If only I'd believe them. I grow my hair out just a little, take a comb and part it to the side. Take my glasses off and put them on the sink so I can see your eyes. Then I look into the mirror and it seems as though you’re still alive. Someone lie to me. Tell me everything will be just fine, If only I'd believe them. I use my imagination, that I had to learn when I was nine. But I recall your arms were bigger and I see I'm wearing a disguise. Though I find it hard to say it, I’ll never know the Claude who chose life. Why did you leave? You didn't know you'd heal in time ‘cause you were only seventeen.
